This Osprey was a big tease. I watched, and over a period of time, it stalled in flight, lowered its tallons then just started flying again. I thought I was going to see the Osprey catch a meal but no such luck.

K20D, Sigma 120-500mm @500mm.

You know Ed, Osprey consider there stall and dive technique highly classified, you have to be in stealth mode to record them, even then its not easy.:G

Very cool shots! I watched one when we were in Yellowstone - it dived twice and came up empty both times. It was fun to watch.
