interesting effect, i think as photographers, all be it amatuer ones, we look around and take much more notice of what we see, like you have done here, i too find myself doing it a lot, i once photographed my coffee table when the sun shone through the blinds and cast stripes on it. i also findwhen i meet people i think about how they would photograph.

Glad I'm not the only one that does that sort of thing.

I don't think it's silly at all. I agree with Keltech and Kazuya. I like it's original form although Intrepid's interpretation and ability to beam to California certainly deserves some merit!

I did something similar one day - though the subject was a potted ficus tree with the striped light from the blinds. It didn't work very well because of having too many shapes - the stripes and the rounded leaves. It was cool to look at but didn't photograph well at all. Your coffee table would work much better.

This seeing things in terms of photography has made me appreciate my surroundings more. I can always find something interesting to photograph if I just look around myself a bit. As long as I can keep that ability to "see" these types of things, I'll never be bored.

Glad to know that the picture was at least half-way successful. The artifact at the top is the door closer!
