Was at the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls for lunch today with my mom and my sisters. My mom had won a $150 gift card for the restaurant so we had to make reservations and go. Unfortunately the weather, although drier, was still not the best for the day but the pictures still turned out alright. We also took a ride to the Greenhouse by the falls for some flower pictures. I handed off my *istDL to the younger of my two sisters today so was helping her to learn a few things about SLRs and take some test shots. These pictures are all from my camera.

And if anyone has any idea what kind of tree this is, can you please pipe up and let me know.

If anyone is interested in seeing the rest of my pictures, you can see them here: http://www.thepengellys.com/falls382009/index.html

Its strange to see bright flowers with the snowy, cold Niagara Falls in the same post. I'm not sure what the well-armed tree is - there's one in the botanical gardens where I often spend lunch, I'll see if it's marked next time I go there. For some reason, I've never quite gotten a picture that does it justice.

It was in the tropical section of the greenhouse. After a quick google search I think I've pinned it down to a species called Aralia Spinosa.

Very nice series Mike. Hope to run into you one of these days, when the weather is right I hit some of the same spots you have.

Jim
