Check here for a selection of shots from "Eric's Time" a local variation on the provincial "March Hare" literary festival. The room was poorly lit (with mixed light sources) so even the 50mm f1.4 had trouble.

Looks like difficult lighting, for sure. I noticed that the camera handled the white balance better in some than others - did you change it at some point? Also, it looks like the lens/camera didn't have trouble focusing - even shooting so wide open with a fairly small dof. I'm impressed with the auto focus (or did you use manual focus and pre-focus on the podium?).

Auto focus all the way. I used a manual white balance setting for some of the images.

I think they all look good despite your poor lighting conditions. I'd love for my pictures to look like that in those kind of conditions.

Nice shots with a great lens.

I like the B&W shots the best without the slight color cast from the indoor lighting, but they are all very nice.
