This guy was really cooperative, He was about a hundred yards away when I first spotted him. I made my way casually over to where he was and sat down at a picnic table about 50 feet from him and started taking pix at 200mm. pretty soon he started wandering towards me. he got close enough that I had to zoom out to get his whole body in the frame. :G Then he started wandering off, I followed him all around the park till he tired of me and flew off.:-)

Very nice pictures! I can't believe how close he got to you - the shots are awesome with the feather detail. Maybe some day I'll get so lucky, but in the meantime, I'll admire yours.

GW - these are great. Exposure is perfect IMO.

What lens? What mode - P, AV, TV?

Thanks

Jim

Thank you everybody! y'all know how to make a guy proud.:-)
Harriet, you've had quite a few outstanding pix I've seen on here so quit your belly aching!

Jim, these were shot with the
Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 II EX DG APO Macro HSM AF- ABC-XYZ :G
the first and last were in "P" mode with bias towards shutter speed.
the others were in AV mode. all at ISO 100 @ 200mm except the last one was @ 180mm #1,3,5 @ f:3.5 #4 @ 4.5 hope that helps.
