A Eagle in a tree by the river. Looks like a young bird since the head isn't completely white.

Closer to the water a Gull standing on a rock half covered with ice.

Really nice detail on the eagle. I've never been able to catch one perched.

Excellent all round! Are these with the 300mm?

Yes they are with the FA*300 on my K10D since that lens doesn't focus reliably with my K20D even after adjusting the focus with the menu. Most times it is right on, but then every once and a while it is slightly out of focus with the K20D.

i really like the gull, its just so sharp, andi know itsvery difficult totake them without the white being slightly blown, but youve got it all perfect.

Both nice pix Tom!
I haven't been lucky enough to get that close to an eagle yet, got some from quite a distance though and hope to get closer soon. Sure is great to get out isn't it!?

I was great to get out, but now it is below zero once again at night and only 40F during the day. Where is spring?

At least some birds are out and about, but the lakes are still frozen solid.

Tom, I like both shots, but that gull looks like it could walk right off my computer screen! Color, exposure and focus couldn't be any better! Normally I like the subject off center, but I like this shot the way it is. Really well done!
