Nice to know that the goose will most likely be OK - I felt sorry for it. I think this particular lake has geese that live there year around - not sure about the heron. I only seem to visit in the fall and spring (easiest to get reservations and time off). We were at this same lake a couple of years ago - when I was still using the DS. I was using the DA 50-200 which convinced me that I really needed SR and a longer lens. So it didn't take me long to buy a K100 and the A*300. These shots were taken with the K20 and that same A*300 - it's been an excellent combination for me.
