Here is the pair on the far end of the pond.


Here is a blow up of the Female and the Frog she caught. Where did she get a Frog when there is still ice on some of the pond?

Thanks GW, I thought it was pretty amazing how much I could crop the image and still have reasonable detail.

Nice pictures! To me the hooded mergansers are exotic birds, but they seem to be common enough in other places. It's funny - I have some half-way decent lenses and gotten to the point where I take significant cropping for granted (especially when shooting macro). The K100 always leaves me wanting more, but I didn't feel that way with the K10 or the K20. What surprises me now is when I try the same thing with a lesser lens, one that's not so sharp. Then I'm amazed at how little detail I still have when cropping. Since you were shooting with the FA*300, it's no wonder you have so much detail.
