Been gone for the last week to Prague during our spring break. What an incredible city. It's like being in fairy tale. Here are a few shots from the trip. I posted a bunch more on my Picasa site. If you're interested you can go to http://picasaweb.google.com/glenn2sh...Om1jvbrhMXx4wE#

So here we go.These were all taken with the DL and the kit lens or the DA 50-200. We start with someone you may have read about in the recent news. He was at the PragueCastle giving a speech on nuclear disarmament.

The Church of Our Lady before Tyn:

An alter boy having a bit of fun!

The Vltava river in the morning haze.

And finally a shot of a statue on the Charles Bridge at sundown.

I hope you enjoyed the short trip.

Very nice Glenn. Nice one of thethe Commander in Chief...how close were you to the podium? I could not imagine being somewhere (that close) to the Prez without being behind some serious security barriers! I always enjoy your photo travelogs and once again you have done well!

Jay, we were about 50 to 75 meters away. There was a lot of security and the square belonged to the castle so it was easily checked out before the president arrived. Lots of secret service guys around and Czech SWAT police as well.

I'm another one who looks forward to your trips. I've never been to Prague, but it sure looks like a city I would enjoy. I don't really have a favorite - each time I scrolled to each picture, I said to myself "this is going to be my favorite" only to have the next one be just as good. Thanks for posting them.

Glenn, You are right. It is a beautiful city. I'll have to go check out your picasa site after I get home tonight.

It looks like the guy behind the president is taking a picture of you :-) But, I'm like Harriet. I can't decide which I like best. Each has it's own joy.

Harriet, Patty and John,
This is another one of those places that I wish you all could come see. It would be so much fun to have us all roam the city for a few days and then come back and compare pictures. Really all you have to do it aim your camera in just about any direction and you end up with a good shot. Also thanks for the kind comments. It really was a fun city.

#2 is wonderful. Great series! I agree about that city being a wonderful opportunity to photograph architecture, etc.

Amazing possibilities!

Regards,
Marc

I have read for many years of the beauty of Prague, and your photos, Glenn, bring it home. Like others in the forum, I always enjoy your trips. I think my favorites of the group are the altar boy and the silhouette on the bridge.

I agree with all the previous comments. These shots are all wonderful. If I had to pick one, it would be a difficult choice, but I would probably choose the Church of Our Lady with the full moon. That shot seems almost magical. The one and only time I've been to Europe was in 1978, and I never made it to Prague. I think it's time for another visit!
