But, it will definitely go on my wall as one of my most treasured. I am coaching what I am 99.99% sure will be my last season of soccer. Because of the economy, my son lost his job in a tire plant in Tennessee and was forced to move home. The timing just happened to be right for him to be able to help with my team. (BTW....he was also the most successful player in the history of our program--3 time All-State, all-time record holder in both goals and assists with more than twice as many as his nearest competitor, etc.) None of that mattered as he was by my side tonight in a conference match in which we tied in overtime...went through two overtimes....and lost in the seventh round of a penalty kick shootout. He simply can't comprehend how much I value this shot.

Even if he was wearing that stupid red cap.....lol. The photo was taken by one of my managers who was shooting the action for me. I think she did pretty good for the Tamron 70-300 in a stadium at night....ISO 3200...f/5.6...1/30 sec.

Paul

BTW....he's fortunately only a temporary resident. He's landed a new job with a defense contractor in Qatar and will only be home till May 4 or so.

That's very touching father-son moment Paul! Sorry to hear about his job loss at the tire plant (Bridgestone??): the automotive business is ugly right now and likely to stay that way for a while. As Kazuya said, I too see a tad bit of noise...I took the liberty of PPing a bit...hope you don't mind.

I can see why you like the shot, Paul. It was nicely done.

Sorry to hear about your son, although glad he's gotten something so soon. Even if overseas. My son is also in the automotive industry and has already had to switch to night shift to keep his job. Luckily he was offered that and not the alternative.

Definitely a "MVP" (most valuable picture) Paul!

What a wonderful shot! Glad he's lined up something else - I envy him his ability to travel with his new job.

Nothing like having your kids still want to be with you after they've grown.
