Great captures, Ed. A Swallow-tailed Kite in flight is one of the most beautiful sights in nature. When you watch one soaring on a breeze, you know why they are called kites. This one, judging from the wear on the edges of the wing and tail feathers is about due for a molt, but when you see round holes within those feathers, you can't help but wonder if some nimrod somewhere hasn't taken a potshot at it with a shotgun. . . .
