Default after 2 weeks on back order its finally arrived

After much reading and advice on here, I ordered my K20 a few weeks ago and it finally arrived on Thursday, managed to take a couple of pictures yesterday with the 18-55 kit lens, also got the 55-300 lens coming but that is still on backorder....

So far so good - need to read the manual a few more times and play with all the various settings. After playing around indoors went into the garden and the first picture I took looked very wrong was meant to be a purple flower and came out a very odd blue on the camera. Thought it must be some setting for the screen and left it alone - luckily I was shooting in RAW as I had left the white balance on fluorescent light (or tungsten light can't remember which) and all looked much better when I changed the settings on the computer. Anyway below is the best of my first 10 pictures, its quite a crop from the original but still looks good in my opinion. Hoping to go to the coast tomorrow morning and take lots of pictures so will probably post lots of pictures of the sea and cliffs. Now I need to find a tower to enter the monthly competition........

Very nice! I know all about those funny blue pictures (most likely it was on tungsten). I've actually used it once or twice to get a very different look to a picture, though I wouldn't recommend it as a usual thing.

Have a great time taking pictures and learning how to use the camera - it's such a fun hobby!

P.S. Don't hesitate to ask questions, we are a friendly lot who don't mind answering the questions we probably asked here when we were all new.

Hi thedoc,

Welcome to the forum!!!

Congrats on the K20 and lenses! There's a lot to learn about this cam, so take your time and experiment, but it looks like you're off to a good start.

Congratulations Doc. I have a K100D which is still serving me very well, but I'm still envious of your acquisition. The price drop of the K20 is getting harder to resist all the time.
