Default Are these adverts necessary

Haven't been here for a while - can't say I like the new format - not so intuitive as before - and why is it plastered with adverts!!

I don't see any advertising once I'm logged in. I was under the impression that the banners only displayed for guests.

I saw this issue of ads inserted into the threads raised on another DSLR forum within Steve's and my understanding is also that they appear only if you are not logged in. Similar to Conor, I do not see any ads inserted within the thread itself.

Very interesting - I'm pretty good at tuning out ads, and hadn't even noticed any. I went to the top looking for the banner ad I was expecting to see at the top, like the old forum, and noticed there wasn't any.
