I love your waterfall shots! They sure make me wish we had more water around, I'd love to take something like this sometime. Perhaps this fall I'll discover a waterfall or two. Until then, I'll enjoy your pictures.

They are all so good, the first is my favourite, looks like a staircase and the slowed down water is wonderful.

Some great photos. I envy your location. That area has always been one of my favorite places on earth and one of the few places in which I would want to live were I ever to leave Arkansas.

Thanks so much for all the kind words and encouragement! Yes, I do live in a gorgeous part of His creation, and it's easy to get great photos of the land!

Jelpee - Tennessee is a (both geographically and geologically) very diverse state. The Cumberland Plateau is a region of thick layers of resistant sandstone above much softer limestone. Hence the large number of "hanging valleys" with sudden drop-offs and waterfalls. Also a rich area for unique and sometimes very rare wildflowers, and diverse wildlife. The waterfalls in these shots were all taken in a part of the plateau close to the area of Crossville, Sparta, Cookeville and Pikeville TN.

Lou - Fall is a wonderful time on the plateau for foliage and for wildlife, but most of the falls are rather low then - it's our driest season.

Again, thank to all for the great and positive comments!

Wonderful series. I'd like to give this a try at a local falls. My last attempt was on bright sunny day and couldn't get a correct expousre with a slow enough shutter to blur the water.

I was looking at the metadata for your first shot using PHOTOME and see F27 at 30" (seconds). Is that correct?

Jim - I've had lots of fun and explored some amazing (and sometimes rather dangerous) places in my hunt for waterfalls. Have taken many hundreds of (often very bad) shots of many waterfalls too. My best days for waterfall shots are days of heavy overcast, showery rain - the falls are full, there isn't too much glare, and you can use slow shutter speeds. Yes, that was a 30 second exposure at F27, using a polarizing filter (between the showers).
