Well mtnman, as you can see, its not unusual at our age to do such a thing. I've done it several times. now I keep my extra cards in my camera bags along with extra batteries for both the cam and the 540 flash.

I feel so much better ...... knowing I'm not the only one who has done that. I've started pulling the card from the computer as soon as the photos are downloaded and putting it back in the camera. Mostly works until I forget to do that.

My old Ist DS displays a warning saying there is no card in the camera-won't even guess how many times I have seen that.

Thanks for the reminder!!!

Leaving for San Diego in a few hours for business meetings tomorrow, so checked and recharging my batteries (so I do not have to carry the chargers), emptied the SD cards - and making sure that they make it back into the cameras, along with the spares. I just have to make sure that the batteries make it back into the cameras.

... so what have I forgotten????

To check which lens is mounted or which body you have grabbed?

Mtnman and Jim - don't feel like the Lone Ranger - everybody has done it (or will, soon enough). Conor, rest assured, your day will come.

Hey MtnMan, thanks for your kindness in sharing an embarrassing, frustrating moment. Surely we've all made lots worse mistakes - I know I have! At least now you have a good excuse to enjoy that hike again!!
