Default Some from yesterday

Nothing great here. Just really needed to get out and take some photos so we headed up the Maine coast. The first few one is surfers on York Beach. I wanted to get closer but we hadn't left enough money in the meter and had to head back.

The next two were at Nubble Lighthouse.

I was having problems getting the lighthouse. It was a very dreary overcast day. When at the lighthouse I had on the Tamron 70-300 lens and it was too windy to switch lenses. I may have lightened this up too much. The second one was towards the end of the day. Across a marsh further north.

Patty,

I'm not too keen on #1, but I like the two of the gull (s) ...you managed to capture the bird (s) walking. Nice and sharp. What lens were you using?

This last one is kind of freaky. He was flying right at me. I converted it to black and white sort of Alfred Hitchcock like.

I was using the Pentax 18-55 on the K20 for the first one and last ones. All the others were taken with the Tamron 70-300. It was quite breezy out and would have been the perfect day to have the 18-250. But, alas, I haven't gotten one yet.

The first two sea gulls are outstanding - the weather worked in your favor. Usually my sea-gull pictures are blown-out and yours capture quite a bit of detail in the white parts.

I like the lighthouse, it doesn't look too lightened on my monitor (of course, I wasn't there). The next one looks rather ominous to me because of the dark feeling to it.

The gull shots are very good especially the flying one, the moonlight sea shot is absolutely gorgeous.

Patty - these really capture the ocean feeling - especially for us "landlocked" folks! I really like the walking gulls - great composition and detail - and the mood of the dark sea photo.

Patty,

Welcome home!

Your walking sea-gulls are nice captures.

Nubble light never looked better. The sea-gull in the picture was the finishing touch to the scene.

Looks like you had a nice Maine day.
