Ithaca has three falls which are worth mentioning-Buttermilk Falls, Ithaca Falls, and Taughannock Falls-October is a great time to visit.

A fascinating looking place - I'd love to visit it. Thanks for sharing the pictures, just wish this spot wasn't so far away. Now if you could just give me the winning lottery numbers, that wouldn't be a problem!

Actually very early in the morning or late in the day is only good at a couple of spots. As you found out the gorge is narrow and deep. The "bad Light" time of day is the ONLY time of day that light reaches some of the gorge.

There is a shuttle that will take you to the top of the gorge so you can walk DOWN the trail. Highly recommended!

It is worth spending some time there. If you camp, the associated camp ground is nice and gives you great access to the gorge.

Great shots!
