Default A flower taken with a DS

A shot taken with my DS. It was done a while ago but I am shooting the Pentax for the next few days and see what I can come up with.

Hi Tom,

That's just gorgeous. I still have my DS and break it out on occasion just to slow myself down a bit. Bird shooting is frantic -- wait -- frantic -- wait. Sometimes it's nice to just walk around and shoot some of the things that get passed by everyday. The 6MP Sony sensor is, IMO, a classic, and still deserves to be used and appreciated.

Interesting, the characteristics of various different sensors may have replaced the discussions about different films we would have had in the past. I agree, that SONY 6Mp found its way into so many cameras that produced great images, really the heart of the first generation of "affordable" DSLRs. All of us who started with Pentax, Nikon or Konica/Minolta probably started with that sensor. I still carry my DL as my "everyday" camera, I take the K10 when I am actually planning to take pictures.

And that 10Mp SONY sensor seems to have also achieved quite a status since it is now the starting point for Pentax, Nikon and SONY.

Beautiful Iris. This is a hard flower to take with a shallow depth of field. You nailed it.

Definitely a beautiful picture of a beautiful flower. I've always preferred the 6 mp Sony sensor to the 10 mp - in many ways they are similar, but the high ISO of the 6 mp one is much better. Your picture sure shows that the DS might be old and out of production, but it sure isn't obsolete!

The DS was my first DSLR and I still love it-matter of fact I bought another one that was a new demo-just did a wedding 2 weeks ago with it. They will never leave my bag until they die. I have the K10d and just got the K20d but use the DS more.

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting. I find my DS to be my carry everywhere dSLR of choice.
