Default More 'flies and such

Just a few local shots, between the abundant showers and the abundant park visitors!

More dragonflies are emerging. Here's a just-emerged female Spangled Skimmer, and then an old photo from last year of the male (have not seen any males yet this year):

Here are a series of shots of an Orange Sulphur butterfly. Would really like your opinion as to which is the best:

Blooming season is moving from forest to field. Here are a few field blooms. First Hawkweed, then Elderberry

And the wet meadows are full of green snacks!

Amazing color, clarity and detail. I'm impressed at the clarity at ISO 800. What lens are you using on your K2000? Also, are these straight out of the camera (vs. some post processing)? Either way, very impressive!

Mole,

Love all the shots. I like the first Orange Sulphur best. I like the pose of the last with the proboscis curled but feel the picture lacks the brightness and saturation of the first.

The dragonflies are dynamite! I also like the fungus shot.

The buck looks very healthy and the setting is perfect for that animal.

No doubt for me, it's #2. Nice pose for the butterfly (it's looking at me!) and a nice, clean composition without distracting background.

I'd like to have your job!

I love the Elderberries and Fungi, the two together you could make some magic. All good shots.

Rodney.
