Default Making Waves

This is not an entry, as it is not a new picture, but it differs from others that have been put up and since it doesn't look like I will have one for this month I thought I would put this up instead. This is my desktop picture, and I never tire of looking at it. It is of a Snowy Egret making waves as if stirs up the bottom looking to scare out small hidden fish. There are two kinds in the picture - like a multiband radio - short waves (from the bird) and long waves (from the breeze) .

Well, since Harriet stole my idea of posting my Bose wave...
I'm left with this one.

Its sort of a two parter... is that legal?

this is the rascal responsible for making the waves. A male Boat tail Grackle.

Penolta - I'm surprised more people didn't post "making waves" pictures, that's what I expected to see lot of. That picture might not qualify, but it sure is an awesome one.

GW - I assume that your entry is the first one. The second picture is an explanation and it's always been OK to add an extra picture that doesn't qualify/isn't an entry, but might add something to the discussion. Your first one definitely stands by itself as a worthy entry for the challenge (and I really like the second one, so thanks for adding it, too).

How about waves of mountains? Some of the early explorers in TN said they saw, "mountains upon mountains upon mountains...." This is from Holston Mt this morning. Is it "wavy" enough?

I was all out of ideas for this month's challenge when my daughter suggested this when we travelled to eastern Long Island, New York during our recent travels.

This is my daughter Kristen on the shores of Long Island Sound. Let's call it "Waves upon Waves".

Thank you Harriet,
After such a nice compliment, I guess now I have to let you off the hook for stealing my Bose wave idea
.
Yes, the first is the entry and second just added to complete the story, well sorta... this one is the last of the series

He really seemed to be enjoying his bath.

After going back and forth on the issue, I've finally decided to put this one on for my "Waves" entry. Taken Sunday at Sandy Beach in SE Oahu.

Taken with the K20, the Tamron 70-300, and a circular polarizer.
