Default Waves

Coming originally from Scotland, I love taking pictures of waves breaking on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island after a long trip across the Pacific Ocean.

GW - I hate things that are that ordered. I'd rather leave it opinion, with perhaps a bit of an explanation as to why you vote the way you did. Quantifying things takes half the fun out of this.

Ian - that picture is AWESOME! It would have gotten my vote if you had posted it in June.

I guess since I'd better vote - there are a number of worthy pictures, but I'm going to vote for Glenn's raindrops, with honorable mention to Mole's clouds.

Thanks Harriet
Much appreciated.
My vote goes to "Big Waves on a big lake".
Beautifully composed and perfectly timed.

My vote goes to Mole's mountains. I had been thinking of the same idea but never got a shot as good as his.

Lots of variations of waves this month. Too many good ones. I like mole's mountains and Ian's shot is cool even if it was late.

It took me a while, but I think I've got to vote for Glenn's raindrop "waves". I loved it when I first saw it and it makes the most impact on me.

I liked the subject this month as it left the imagination to run wild on the subject. We had hair waves, object waves, Ball Park waves, boats jumping and creating waves, radio waves, mountain waves, bird making waves, puddle waves and lots of traditional surf waves.

But in the end for me it came down to two. If Ian Mac had made it in time it would have been my first. It was a spectacular wave shot.
In the end my vote goes to Mole. The mountain waves were original, a beautiful picture and deserving in as much as anyone who gets up and climbs a mountain in the dark to get a picture like this deserves to win.

Lou

I'll echo Lou's statement above. Although I'm finding it very hard to choose...
jeleep's hair wave is very original and deserves an honorable mention as does Lou's boat waves, all of them were nice in there own right but, Mole gets my vote, his photo just feels so awe inspiring and peaceful at the same time, its one of those photos you could sit and look at for a long time.

Voting is a bit slow. By my count its Glenn's raindrops as the winner for June. A fine photo.
Congratulations Glenn and to everone who entered.

My count is 4 for Mole and 3 for Glenn. Am I missing something?
