Default June's Monthly Challenge

Thanks for the votes and to everyone for participating in this forum. It's a great way to learn.

The theme for this month is "WAVES". I think this theme should be open to the widest interpretation possible, as we don't all live near a surfing beach!

As usual: "Pictures are to be sized 800 pixels on their longest side, be taken with a Pentax or Samsung dSLR, and be taken within the last 90 days."

Hope this theme meets with general approval?

cheers

Well, thinking of my recent trip to the Rochester Air & Water Show, here is a shot of a coast guard boat having some fun on the waves. Was a bit windy with 20-30mph gusts and this guy was having a blast. K20D + Tamron 70-300mm Di LD

Mike - that's a very cool shot - perfect for this topic!

Hmmm - I could always use this as an excuse to go to a beach somewhere. Or I wonder where I could find someone with an oscilloscope? No, I better not. I don't want to make waves!

Love the topic. Does this mean I now have a reason for my trip to Hawaii later this month?

Last year, I couldn't stop shooting waves. (NOT AN ENTRY!)

I'll wait for Hawaii to post an entry.

Great topic BB2!

Harriet, when did you ever need an excuse to go to the beach?!

Well, guess where I went tonight after work! Only, wasn't thinking and didn't get any shots, although there were plenty of waves as the tide was coming in. Was visiting with a friend. We got some bad news today that a friend's son who had disappeared a week ago had been found. It wasn't a happy ending.

Luckily I live close enough that another visit won't be hard. Especially since I love the beach. You don't have to ask me twice to go.

Nice pics so far. I can see this is going to be another tough month of competition.

Very nice picture! I love it when someone gets creative with a topic, and this is very creative.

You can only have one photo count as an entry. However, if you decide later in the month to change your entry, you can delete the first one and add the new one (either in the same post or I'd recommend doing a whole new post).

Default The Baseball "Wave"

Okay. It's not the most flattering photo, but my attempt at trying to catch the "wave" at the Denver Rockies/San Diego Padres game a few weeks ago. Without seeing it in motion, it's a hard thing to image.
