Default Bugs & Flowers

Just a few random shots, caught in the midst of trailwork and between hikes, out in the local fields.
Our Common Milkweed is just starting to bloom, and drawing in many insects.

About a week ago, my good friend Vole asked about male Spangled Skimmers. They are just now emerging:
(Thanks for any suggestions on improving any of these shots!!)

All very nice, the 2nd shot is my favourite, although the roadside flowers are so pretty and the Longhorn is pretty cool.

Great shots Mole (as always),

the second insect in the second shot looks almost like it's part of the flower.
Love the green bee on the chicory.

and I think it's time for me to search for some dragonflies.

I think the natural light shots really give a great backdrop - smooth and out of focus. Make it real easy to see the subject.

I like all of these, favs being 2, 3 and 4
