Default Dng

Mine are always 16 meg.+, depends on fine detail in photo. ex. mostly blue sky will be small file, many blades of grass will be large file.

Thumnail pictures will only show in Pentax Photobrowser.

DNG files are larger than PEF, but write faster in my K20D, compression process must take extra time.

I use a program called (Instant jpeg from raw) to extract embeded jpegs. 300 DNG images take less than 30 secons to extract. Program is free download.

Roy,

I downloaded the program, installed, rebooted and still see the same blank box as before in Thumbnail view.

Any ideas? These are PEF files, not DNG.

Try this link: http://www.rawworkflow.com/instant-j...m-raw-utility/

Thet want some information from you, I received a few emails with advertizing, not too many. I never shoot jpeg plus raw any more, this is too easy.

So, does this actually create another file? I kind of liked the idea of not generating more files than I needed. Although, it would save space on the card to just create them after downloaded.

Except for having to open another program if I've been in WE. I like the Pentax Browser as I can quickly see the photo data.
