Love the green thing (whatever it might be, it's interesting) - I really should think about some type of ring light. There's just so many cool things I'd like to have and not enough budget to support it all.

that ringlight doesn't do much for the image. The main light is still the flash.

The reason I got a ring light is especially for low light situations where I don't have enough light to see what I'm focussing on, the only extra is that it lights up the shadow casted by the flash.

With longer shuttertimes You can use this type of ringlight to get an image only with anything moving it won't give enough light. The only way to go is a flash.

I'm still searching the web for a low cost better lighting solution.
