Default Graduation Day

My Grandson graduated last week, so LD and I flew up to attend. The stage was a long ways off and it took place inside the Nissan Pavilion at night time, so I had to use the Bigma at 500mm and 1600 ISO and slower shutter speeds (flash Sync at 1/180th and F/6.7 with a Vivitar 285HV Zoom Thyristor flash). A few of the closer ones were easier but still not as I would have wished.

BD, They look like they came out okay to me. Isn't the Bigma a long lens. People must have been gawking at you using it at such an event.

Congrats to your grandson.

Good thing you had the big guns to get those. They turned out pretty fair for the conditions you had to shoot in. Congrats to your grandson.

BD,

I am surprised at how well you did. It looks like you were to far away to have any effect from the flash. How many feet away were you and what focal length were you at with the Bigma? Maybe I need a Zoom thyristor flash as well.

Nice looking picture of your family and one I'm sure you will cherish for a long time. The graduate looked psyched going up to get his diploma.
