Never quite figured that out.

Have you updated to the latest firmware? It seems to me that I'm getting more keepers at slower shutter speeds than I had been able to hand-hold before I updated. The other thing is that my tripod pictures aren't as sharp and crisp if I leave SR on.

Try taking several pairs of sequential handheld telephoto shots of a target with lettering or a grid on it and with the SR off and then on in each pair - if it is working, you should see a difference unless you have an unusually steady hand. A brick wall or a house with multi-pane window should do nicely.

Well Roy, one way is to pick a target, take 4 shots in T/V mode with SR turned on at different shutter speeds. say, 1/45, 1/60, 1/90 and 1/125.
then do it again with SR turned off. compare pix on the computer. That should give you a pretty good idea of how its working.

Was there a firmware update for the K20? I don't remember having done one and the web page doesn't seem to want to show me if there is one right now and live chat is not working.

Just wondering. I usually keep up on stuff like this when it's out.

easiest way to see it working in in life view, sometimes you can even hear it working.

The way you know it's working is that you'll see the hand in the viewfinder with the parentheses around it. That's the indicator that it's on.
