Default from yesterday

Went to check out a library gallery I'll be allowed to hang my photos in September and went driving around afterwards with my aunt. These are a few taken yesterday. I think all were taken with the K20 and Tamron 70-300. Didn't pay attention when we left the house and this was the only lens I had in my bag.

There is supposed to be a garden on the other side of the tea house, but we were asked to leave as a wedding was about to start.

Any advice, critiquing, etc definitely welcome. I'd really like to improve on my photos and was hoping you guys could help me out.

Patty

I thought most of them looked a bit dark, but it could be my monitor. What do others think? Otherwise, I really like all of them.

Your last one, the cat is just AWESOME!

Very nice Patty! I especially like the close ups of the lillies as well as the "gazebo" like structure. The one of the Siamese (yours?) is brilliant...the emphasis on the blue eyes is perfect!

Nice shots Patty, the cat is awesome! I also like the serpentine wall punctuated by the tables (I think this one needs some lightening though). Nice series.

I think Harriet is right. Most photos are a little dark. Patty you should adjust brightness/contrast using the black to white range found on a number of web sites.

What nerve! They ask you to leave just because of a little ol' wedding?

You should have looked them dead in the eye and said...
Yeah, I know. I'm the wedding photographer but, if that's the way you feel... then walked off!

Beautiful shots Patty,
only they also look a bit dark on my monitor.
Great setting for a wedding, love the patio.

@GW

Patty - some lovely composition - especially like the tree/water shot and the second tulip. I tend to like darker pictures, and these look great to me, so maybe they are a bit dark...

Need to get off to work right now. But, I will work on the monitor settings tonight and see about lightening up the photos. It's interesting that others photos I view with my monitor all look fine to me just like these do. I did look at them from my rinky work monitor and had a coworker use her nice IT Dept one and they looked fine. But, when at my volunteer job last night looked on that monitor and I think that one may have shown what others are seeing.

Back later. Patty

p.s. The cat is my aunt's siamese. She has two we bought her a few years ago after my uncle passed away to keep her company. I think this one was Mimi. The other is Coquette.
