Default A little Notoriety

My Red Tailed Hawk in a downpour picture was used on the 5:20PM weather report on New England Cable News Network this evening. NECN is seen in all 6 New England states.

Cool, Lou! Congratulations. I missed it. I'll have to watch later and see if they show it again.

Thanks jelpee, It was really the only one that was half decent. The bird was just facing the wrong way and the shot was rushed.

Thanks Patty,

It was only on the 5:20 newscast. Tim Kelley was very nice to speak with. I think he was happy to get a Photo for his segment on a rainy day. He and Chet Curtis went back and forth with "do you think the bird is smiling". If you wanted to go out and take pictures this week you needed a wet suit and flippers.

This morning I got an e-mail from Danielle Niles telling me she really enjoyed seeing the picture.

Thanks Roy,

They don't much like squirrels either as I see them catching them in my yard occasionally and flying off with them in their talons.

I'm using a Tokina 80-400mm, F4.5-5.6. I love the lens as it is light enough to hand hold without difficulty and seems to work well with my Tamron 1.4 TC. It may be a tad soft at 400mm but acceptable for my needs.
