Default 4th in the Surf

Fourth of July for Brenda and me was on the public beach at Bellows AFB east of Kaneohe. For a couple of land-lubbers, the waves were a little daunting, but our daughter-in-law, raised in Southern California, loved them.

We were the old folks with a bunch of their friends and families, including a group of kids who put everything into enjoying the day.

This young fellow learned a valuable lesson...girls WILL throw sand in your face

I couldn't decide when I took this one whether my son was trying to indicate that he was conquering the beach....or just asserting his rights as cook

We had to skip the public fireworks displays to go home and comfort their dog who spent the evening hiding in a cabinet, scared of the fireworks going off in every direction.

I hope everyone had as great of a Fourth as we.

Those are wonderful, the kids playing in the surf are great captures.

I had a nice 4th, but I don't think it compared to yours. I did get my lawn cut though.

Sounds like a great way to spend the 4th of July! You've captured the spirit of the beach very well in this series (especially in #3)!

Great photos Paul,
Nice and sharp too! I think the one of your son is simply outstanding and I love #4.

Your son has to be protecting the grille, he sure looks possessive about it. The kids are darling, there's something about beaches that delights all kids, no matter where they come from.
