Default Rhode Island

Yesterday, being our 27th wedding anniversary, and we finally had a nice day of weather that we were able to go anywhere, we took a day trip down to Rhode Island. We were all over the place. Started in Fall River (MA), then Tiverton area, then headed towards Adamsville, then back to Massachusetts to Horseneck Beach State Reservation, then on to find some place to eat. We weren't having much luck, so decided just to go down to Newport and eat at one of our favorite places - The Creamery. My husband's been going there since he was a kid.

Here are a few of my shots. Any critiquing definitely welcome. I think I need to start shooting in full manual mode so I pay more attention to my shutter speed.

These first few were at Fall River Heritage State Park at Battleship Cove. My battleship shots aren't worthy of posting.

These are from Simmons Mill Pond we stumbled upon. It was quite a hike down there, but a nice pond.

After we ate we headed out to Sachuest Point Wildlife Refuge. We were hoping to capture the waves on the "rocks" for the July challenge, but were too late. It was starting to get dark. There was no real sunset due to the clouds. I know this bunny is not real great, but I love bunnies. This little guy was there at the end of the trail to say goodbye to me.

That was quick. I came back to view them online and saw these. Thanks Eddy and mtnman. Congrats on 24 mtnman.

I am noticing that the first one did not come across online as it showed in PSE7. I'll play around with it. They were all resized the same way. I used the resize tool in Windows power tools. That one was not cropped at all. So, can't see that's it. The lily is the one that was cropped quite a bit.

Patty

I'm not sure what's going on with that now second photo. The only adjustments I even made to that photo was a little sharpening.

Great pictures Patty. I love the water Lilly and the view of the pond. Nicely done!

Battleship park is a nice take. I took my grandchildren there three years ago and we spent the better part of a day going through the ships.

Have you ever been to Water Fire in Providence? Evie and I have been thinking of going down some Saturday night to take some pictures and dine down there. Providence has some great restaurants.

Patty, I really like #'s 1, 2, 3 & 4...very sharp and good contrast. Love the composition in #3...it almost invites you to wade in. Sounds like a great trip...thanks for sharing your travels. BTW, what lens did you use?

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! My wife Jennifer and I celebrated our 23rd on July 5th!
