Awesome shots of the lake Patty! I especially like the emphasis on the sky in #1--it seems as though the clouds are in motion.

Hi Patty

I like all the shots. However my fav is #4. Almost looks like you use HDR

Very nice. I like the colors in #4 (my favorite).

Just wondering, what inspired you to take #2? I only ask because it looks like something I'd take, and my friends/family wonder what the heck I'm doing.

Thanks, everyone. The two lake shots were taken two successive nights. We kept trying to get the sunset on the lake. (Although, I swear the sun did not set in that direction. But, hubby who works near there said I didn't know.) It had been raining all day both days, then the sun started breaking out.

Phil - No HDR. I was struggling with trying to figure out what to use to meter off of. Water, too dark, clouds, too bright. Kept having to find a medium gray spot in the clouds then recompose. I had meant to try HDR, but didn't have my book and had forgotten again how to do it on the K20- again. I really need to start carrying the manual with me.

Cameanee - Inspiration? The fact that I document everything. My husband is so glad I've gone digital. I used to go through a roll of film in too short a time. Now he doesn't mind that I take photographs of anything and everything. I don't know why I posted that one. I guess maybe to show all the water we'd had. There were lots of flooded streets up here that week. That car was actually going very slowly through that water.

We had trees taken down in our yard last Monday. I came home from work to document that! My hubby thought I was crazy of course. As did the workers. Actually, the third shot is my yard. I've been practicing trying to get that shot. I don't think I quite have it the way I see it yet. But, it's getting close.

Patty, I put up a post last night but somehow it never came up.

I love the sunsets! both are outstanding shots. You should have sent them in to NECN!

The flooded road shot is something I don't need to see more of.
