Default Snail Kite Nest Update

I have been following this nest construction for about six weeks. When I went to Loxahatchee on Friday it had been two weeks since I was last there. I am sure eggs were laid sometime over those two weeks, this was the first time the nest was never left unattended. The pair was swapping off for time on the nest, one mate always returned before the other would leave.

Wow, the male's pose is awesome and the female's detail is terrific.

Yikes! That male does not look happy. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him. Was he mad at you?

I did not see what caused this pose. He was paying no attention to me, swamp is between me and nest.

Nice shots. Was he hollering at the snails?

Great shots Ed.
That last one would be great for a photo caption contest.

Great series - wondeful capture of the male's pose! Please keep us informed as the nesting progresses.
