Default What is the difference?

I note that Pentax makes a K100d and a K100d Super. Are these the same? If not, what is the difference?

The sensors are the same. The biggest difference is that the K100 Super supports the SDM lenses, while the K100 does not. This means that a lens like the DA*50-135 and DA*16-50 will focus using the camera's screw drive motor. However, the DA 17-70, which is SDM only, would not auto focus with the older K100. If they are the same price, get the K100 Super. If you have no plans for the DA 17-70 or one of Sigma's HSM lenses, then the K100 would be fine.

I think the K100 has the dust reduction system, but since I never thought it was very useful, I don't really remember.

It does, but you have to enable it in the setup menu.

Penolta,

The K100D has no dust reduction the K100Dsuper does.

Depends on how you define it. There is an item in the K100 set up menu called "sensor cleaning" which raises the mirror and exposes the sensor for manual cleaning. It is not self-cleaning like later models which shake the sensor to dislodge dust particles. I believe the K100 Super incorporated the shake provision which was introduced in the K10.
