It just like a guided nature walk! Thanks so much.

Hi mole,

I'm liking #2 in the waterfalls also.

This is another great series!

I'm definitely envious (not a whole lot of waterfalls around Chicago), but at least I can take a trip to the woods in TN any time I like by clicking on one of your posts.

Keep 'em coming!

Scott

More beautiful pictures, making me jealous of your water and greenery. The lily is certainly unusual. I like all of them.

Thanks for all the kind & complimentary comments. By the way, I was incorrect on the i.d. of the little butterfly - it's a Banded Hairstreak, not Hickory (still a new record for Unicoi County, just not as rare...)

Lou - the flowers in the photo are common milkweed - a great butterfly plant for many species. Dutchman's Pipevine has big heart shaped leaves and strange, pipe-like brownish flowers. Will look forward to seeing what you find by your milkweed plants!

Faithful Pastor - yes, I did use a circular polarizer. Not a lot of time spent with photoshop - just a bit of minor cropping (and, of course resizing in order to make them small enough to post). I'd much rather spend time out in the field than in front of a computer screen!

GW - thanks for the input. What do you think of the raspberry picture - I can't decide if I like it or despise it...

Sarah - Thanks! I do lead a LOT of nature hikes (part of my job), and I guess it just flows into the photography too...

Scott - thanks so much - it is a grand place to live and explore - but you sure have found some great places to explore near you!

Harriet - different scenes in different regions - you have shown us some amazing places near you as well! Glad you enjoyed these.

Mole, I don't despise it... it just doesn't do anything for me.
It doesn't compare with all your other photos. Although it is kind of interesting how it looks like its cut out of crumpled tissue paper.

BTW, I really like the toad stool, its a female you know...
How do I know that? well... she's wearing a skirt.

The Flowers, the Mushrooms, the Waterfalls, they are all wonderful.
