Default Back from my Travels!

Hello all,

Back from my travels to the tropics with lots of pictures to sort through and process. I am pleased to report that the the DA 18-250 mm performed very well and will now stay permanently affixed to my K10D. As we wandered through airports, beaches, rain forests and small towns I was glad to be travelling light on photo gear. The DA 18-250 truly is the all-in-one lens that comes in a nice compact package.

Got lot's of images to sort through which means it will be a few days before I'll have a photo log to share. In the mean time, here is a teaser .

Welcome back Jelpee. Glad you had a good trip. Will look forward to seeing some pics when you sift through them.

Oh, and by the way, you might want to start thinking about a theme for the August challenge, since you're currently leading the vote count by a large margin.

Yes, welcome back! That's quite a lovely first picture, I'm envious.

Ditto the welcome back, if that photo is a foretaste of what is to come, I believe we are all in for a treat.

Yep, jelpee, like you I found the 18-250 to be a great vacation and general, walking-around, non-mission-specific lens. In fact, it has cured me of my need for a compact superzoom camera - at least until someone bars me from bringing my Pentax K200D into a given venue. I got into a MLB game last month, so I guess my next challenge will be a concert. The only potential problem there will be the camera, because the lens is certainly compact enough.

Thanks for the "welcome back" messages!

My apologies for being scant around the forum recently...I'm still working through the 300+ images that I took and want to go through them all and post images in categories rather than chorologically; hopefully it will tell a better story. It will be closer towards the end of the week before I'm done with the sorting and editing.

I had no internet access during my travels and I'm surprised that I did not experience any forum withdrawals! It is good to be back here though!
