Default First outing with the K20

As I posted here a few weeks ago my K 100 D started acting funny while on a trip to Nova Scotia, so I finally took the plunge and got a K 20. I wanted the K7. I wanted it desperately (still do). But the K 20 is selling at such a great discount, I couldn't justify spending twice as much for the K7.

Our daughter played in the band that led the Shriners Parade in Windsor, Vermont this past weekend. Here comes the parade!

As the band passed, I searched desperately for our daughter, but I couldn't find her. After the band had passed my wife asked if I got any shots of her. No, I said, I never even saw her.

"What? She passed right next to you. She wasn't more than 20 feet away!"

"Really?"

"Yes, really. How could you have missed her?"

"I don't know."

Oh well, you know how it goes. And sure enough, she is not visible n this photo!

After the festivities, while returning home, we saw a hot air balloon, coming right toward us, so we stopped at the edge of a field where it looked like the balloon was likely to land.

It came very close to us. Amazingly close, in fact.

But the pilot apparently decided there were too many trees, or too many wires, or something, so he gave it some gas, and continued on to a better landing site.

In all, it was a good first outing for my new camera, even though I missed the one shot I really wanted to get.

Nice series!

Good luck with the new camera. Looks like you are using it well.

Sorry you missed the shot of the day but sometimes our attention gets diverted when looking through that viewfinder.

Glad you are enjoying the K20D...it sure is a great value! I love that 2nd picture of the balloon--great perspective and great composition. The colors against the blue sky are amazing.

While you might have missed your daughter, you still took a lot of excellent shots. I really like the balloon series, that second one is really spectacular.

The K20 really is an excellent camera and such a good value, it's hard to pass up, isn't it?
