Thank for your complementary reply!

I am blessed with two bird refuges 20 min. from my house. If you read the reply's I have given to both mtgal and mtman you will get a sense of how I am using the lens combo.

My trusty K100D although a fine camera is a little slow for this kind of shooting. I will be upgrading to the K-7 (I am being patient and waiting for the early glitches to go away) and hope it's faster focus speed and quieter performance will enable me to do a better job of taking pictures of fast moving aerial acrobats like the Osprey.

Nice images, Lou. I really like the heron looking down. And, your butterflies are fabulous.

I visited 3 times and on each visit I found the Monarch on the same plant. Must be his favorite dish!
