Default New Layout of Steves-Digicams....

I have to say that the new layout of Steves-Digicams is unappealing to me.
I realize that many people get comfortable with something they're used to and tend to resist change - even when it's an improvement but the new layout of Steves-Digicams is not (IMHO) a change for the better.

What are other people's opinions?

Default The Old Way

I like the old site better. My computer won't let me access the new site using Microsoft Internet Explorer, it freezes up and I have to re-boot, but I can get in using Mozilla Firefox.
But then, I have never cared for change.

Now that I'm used to it, I like the way it works. The biggest benefit is as you are responding to a post you can see the image still to refer back to. The old system I was sometimes having to have two windows open so I could look at the image as I was commenting.

Although, this new layout that showed up last night, I'm not crazy about. I just don't like the camera image they are using. Small detail, but to me it makes it look rinky for a better word.

Just my opinion.

The new site lacks Draw appeal! But it is their site and they can do what ever they want to do with it.....

You can go into your user preferences and restore any of the old themes that you prefer for the forum pages. There is a window at the bottom left of this page that you can use to try, but to make a change permanent, enter into your preferences.

Edit: So much for that - there have been some eliminations since I last looked this morning - only the old "dark" theme remains - that is the one I use as the photos look better on the black background.

I just tried it on my Windows laptop (as opposed to my iMac) and the change to dark worked. I'll try it on the Apple later. I like the dark background better. As for the total site redesign, it's fine. Much more of what the site has to offer is now easier to spot on the home page. Plus, there seems to be a lot more room for ads - which I'm sure is the idea. I can't blame them.

As soon as I read penolta's post, I changed it to Dark Theme I was used to, which makes the content more distinct as well as doing more justice to the pictures, imo. Btw, quite agreed with Patty on the camera image!
