Default Tropical Images (Part 3--Final)

OK...this is the end of my Tropical Images trilogy. I saved the most mundane scenes for the end...but then again, it's what the family and I went there to enjoy. As I said, I was overwhelmed by everything else, that I actually took fewer pictures of the beach scenery than I thought. Again, this was the K10D with the DA 18-250mm.

From 23,000 ft above sea level

And at sea level

And finally, Marigot Bay at sunset

Beautiful, jelpee. Looks like the water is so clear in the first shot that you can see the sand granules from 23,000 feet.

Is it warm that they make the pier covered? I don't think I've ever seen a covered pier like that.

And, the last one is so serene. Just emits peacefulness looking at it. Looks like you picked a beautiful place.

Hi Patty,

Thanks for your comments. I can't say enough good things about the beauty of St. Lucia!

Re. the covered pier, actually it is one of the restuarants at the resort that we stayed at. Very nice ambience when dining...refreshing breezes and the sound of the water lapping at the pier and rocks. We were on an afternoon stroll when I captured the image.

The image of Marigot Bay (last image) is an often photographed one. It was where the original Dr. Doolitle (1967) movie was filmed and is known for its peaceful and serene atmosphere.

jelpee, I don't consider these "mundane" at all.
I think I'd be tempted to hang these on my wall at work just to remind me that there is a place I'd rather be!

Thanks Lou...I tried this hand held since I did not take a tripod on my travels. You're right on the mood though...my vacation was very relaxing and therefore very enjoyable!

Jelpee, these are great pics. That pier looks like a wonderful place to sit and sip a pina colada, and watch the world go by.
