Default Hummingbirds This Morning

This morning I had a chance to just sit back and watch a group of ruby-throated hummingbirds flitting around a feeder.

This guy paused to have his pic taken

Look out, here I come

Some were patient

This one was not

Shots taken with the K-7 and the Bigma. I ran them through Noiseware since I had boosted ISO to 1250 so I could get high shutter speeds in the early morning light.

Again, some very nice shots considering the speed their wings move.

Seems to have worked well for you. Your Bigma shots seem to be better with the K7, too.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that. When I shot comparison shots and pixel-peeped, I didn't see much difference between the K20 and K-7, but every so often I think the pictures are a bit sharper. In this case, it looks to me like Noiseware was gentler with your pictures than noise reduction software usually is. These are really nice!

Nice shots, wonderful green colouring and amazing detail at that iso.

Great pictures of birds I wish we had where I live.

Very fine pictures! Nice detail and framing.

What shutter speed did you use to freeze the wing action. No exif data was available.

I have not been able to get high enough SS to do that yet but it is a function of how much available light I have had when shooting them.

Looking at your last shot it looks like you had the lens wide open as the depth of field seems very shallow.

Nice job, Paul.
