Default the OLD neighborhood (and some bugs)

It's been perfect bicycling weather this week - clear and cool, brighrt and breezy... So I took my trusty K-m along for a few rides, to try some new views of some of the older "neighborhoods" nearby.
This wet, warm summer has not been kind to some of the old homeplaces, making roofs rust and yards grow much too fast!

The old schoolhouse is quietly decomposing.

It looks like the old country store hasn't had any customers lately.

Both the barn and the shed could stand some roof repairs.

And I think my old cow has been out to pasture just a little too long.

On the other hand, this warm wet summer has been great for the old shade tree.

And the prayers of the "bugs" have been answered!

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse of these scenes from some old country roads, and that you will travel your roads safely this weekend!

Enjoyed them a lot, a bit different from the gorgeous nature shots (except the insects) but great work.
