Default Wildlife Kind Of!

Went to the beach at the local lake looking for some cooperative birds, but being pressed for time, this was all I could find.

K20D, 300mm, 1/1500, f/11, ISO 800

ROTFL! Well, you sure got the right DOF - I'm so struggling with that right now (reason for the challenge topic this month). Love the bright colors - just the opposite of the monochrome scenes I was experimenting with today.

Well, they are certainly on the move - or, eh?

It looks like an invasion - perhaps you should call your local wildlife officer!!

Really cute shot - and nicely done...

The DOF was easier to deal with using a long lens from a distance than the 16-45mm I had with me and the ISO of 800 got me a high shutter speed for the hand held shot.

Since this months challenge I have been paying more attention to DOF in my photos which I use to do quite a bit when I was using film.

It almost looks like they should get a permit for having that many birds in one place.

I really liked the color and the contrast between the driftwood and the plastic flamingos since this is the first time I ever saw those lawn ornaments and enjoyed the presentation.

Cool shot. Nice colours, quite sharp, good composition, just a pity the feather detail was not better

I'm not surprised. Last time I saw one of these was on the Antiques Roadshow! They were once all the rage as lawn ornaments, but were even "getting old" when I was a kid. . . .
