Default Ozone Falls, rain & sunshine

Had to spend most of the weekend indoors at a meeting in our state capitol, but had a few opportunities to "hit the trail."
Before the meetings, while it was still sunny, checked out a patch of Goldenrods for one of my favoriet autumn "bugs" - Locust Borers. Their larvae are a real pest of Black Locust trees, but they are a beautiful pest. And the adults love goldenrods!

Some huge storms moved in (and we all moved inside too!). Between the storms, I decided to go check out one of our state natural areas. Ozone Falls is withing 5 or 6 miles of Interstate 40, yet has few visitors (no sign on the interstate...). It usually looks like this (photo taken last winter with canon powershot).

But with all the rain, it looked a bit different! (These shots are stitched together, 3-4 photos each, with the free software called Photosphere. Would appreciate your opinions on the success of the software...)

You could hear the falls from the parking area about 1/4 of a mile away! It was difficult even to approach the falls - the rocks were very slick with rain and spray. Here are a few more views, from above and from below, and a view downstream of the high water in the creek.

After the storms passed, there were some great views of the storm-washed landscapes.

And, of course, lots of mushrooms sprouting from the soggy land.

Great shots Mole!
3 days and counting... can't wait to get there but, I'm putting in my order for mostly sunny days and mild temps. A little rain at night is OK.

Lots of incredible shots! Ozone Falls photos are amazing. I can almost hear the sound!

The mushrooms shot is really neat also.

You sure do have a nice variety of colorful insects to photograph. The macros are super!

The falls pictures are great. The stitching looks seamless to me.

Glad to hear your home safe.
