Default Rain Fall

Spent several days this week at nearby Steele Creek Park in Bristol TN, to inspect some trails, and to help with a special event. It's been a very wet week (& weekend), with only a few opportunities to use the camera.
First a few views of the lake at Steele Creek, showing the continued development of fall colors at these lower altitudes.

It's mostly younger woodlands here, but still quite rich in autumnal discovery.

Of course, the wet weather is perfect for mushrooms here too.

I also had a few chances to try out my new/old "superzoom" lens, and am beginning to get the hang of it. What do you think of these photos, compared to the first few I posted?

The weekend event included some captive raptors. This RT Hawk was so much prettier than mine, I just had to take his photo too! (He sure drew a crowd!!)

Hope you enjoyed this wet weekend as much as I did! (The forecasters are suggesting some snow flurries in our nearby mts tonight!)
Would be delighted with any comments/suggestions/critique - especially about the photos with the new lens. Thanks!!

You're obviously a couple of weeks ahead of us getting into fall. We're just beginning to see color in the Ouachitas. Really like the mushroom and wet foliage shots, and the Red Tailed Hawk truly is a beauty. Nice work, as usual.

I am not qualified to critique your photos, but I can tell you how much I enjoyed the colors, composition, and insightful choices of subject matter. As I have mentioned to you before, I always look forward to opening your posts and "walking" through your part of the country. Beautiful! Thanks.

These are great as usual Mole, and the great blue heron shot is... Great!
I wish I had the eye for composition like you do. Keep up the good work.
