Default Back from some travels

Hello all,

Have been scant in the forum these past two weeks...been travelling. Started out with a long weekend in West Virginia. My 14 year old daughter and I returned to the New River Gorge National River for a weekend of photography (she with the K10 & me with the K20). Still trying to get through the pictures.

Then this past weekend through Tuesday, I visited southern Utah/northern Nevada and Arizona on a photo & hiking trip. Visited the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon NP and Zion NP. Also stopped by Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Amazing sights...I'm afraid that my photos could never do justice to the actual scenery!

Lots of pictures to PP...give me some time and I'll post some.

Hurry and post your southern Utah pictures - we'll be visiting St. George for a couple of days before Christmas and I'm always looking for ideas. Did you visit Antelope Canyon? I'd like to go and thought that might be a good time, assuming the weather cooperates.

You will enjoy the area no matter where you visit. I used St. George as my home base and made day trips to the Grand Canyon (2.5 hours), Bryce Canyon (2 hrs), and Zion (40 minutes). In the area is also Cedar Breaks, Kolob Canyon, and the Virgin River Gorge. The hikes were strenuous due to the steep climbs as well as the elevation--not to mention carting the photo gear. But well worth the time and effort.

I did not visit Antelope Canyon--saving that for another visit. The slot canyons I hear are a photographer's delight!
