Default Fall color on my street

Finally had a little sun today after dreary and rainy weather for what seems like a month. Had to get out and catch the color of trees before all the leaves had finally fallen. Surprisingly the trees have managed a good comeback after being devastated by the October Surprise storm 3 years ago.

These next 2 were from the forsythia bush in our front garden.

Mike - great colors and fine composition on your street - really draws my eye into the picture. Very interesting patterns on the forsythias, and good use of DOF. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you all for the kind words. It is a nice street to live on, although a bit busy at times with traffic (daycare at the end of the street). It's hard to imagine that 3 years ago we got a storm in mid october that devastated a good number of the trees in the area with heavy wet snow. Here is a shot taken from the street in the same direction as the one I posted above but right after the october storm. And it's not so much the fact that we got snow, cuz everyone knows we get lots of snow here in Western NY. It's the timing, we got it early in october in a large quantity and because the weather was relatively warm still the snow was very heavy and wet and weighed the trees down, along with the fact that most of the leaves had not all fallen yet as well. Far as I know, we lost only one tree on the street because of it. The tree in front of my house lost a large branch from the middle making it look a little odd and off balance, but it survives.
