Default A Winter's Drive (1 vid)

Went with the family to Reno, NV, USA this past Thanksgiving weekend, and took my brand new K-x along for the trip.

During the drive, we passed through snow-covered mountains of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains. With the Lensbaby Composer on, I took some random shots and put together a short video: http://www.flickr.com/photos/inferno10/4147696932/

A K-x, huh? How are you enjoying it? The video looked like fun! Not surprised by the snow, nice to have an early storm come through.

So far, I'm liking the camera. It looks great in-person, and matches well with my Lensbaby and 50mm f/1.4. I'm really liking the image quality at higher ISOs. AF seems as speedy as the K-7, but shutter noise is definitely louder; I also have to remember that I can't go in inclement weather with this camera. The grip feels almost like the K-7.

I already hit some of the limitations of the camera, such as lack of AF adjustment, lack of dedicated AF button, lack of front e-wheel. On the other hand, this camera is not a K-7, so I shouldn't be complaining.

While my K-7 will be the main workhorse, my K-x will probably become my indoors/bar/club camera.

Thanks for the feedback - I'd like the high ISO capability on occasion, but not often enough to buy a new camera. And I do still have the K100, which has very good noise control so I can't complain. Playing with it recently sure makes me appreciate the front wheel!

It makes me think the future for photography is very bright.

Very cool Jason! no pun intended.
Looks like the KX is going to make a niche for itself.
