Default Some more hungry birds

Was out on the trail yesterday (trash pickup, fallen limb removal, etc.) and decided to bring along the 135-600 zoom. A bit of a load for a 3 mile trail...

Had some chances to see some interesting bird feeding behaviors, and try to photograph them. None of these are great photos, but I found them fascinating, and thought you would too.

I spent several minutes watching the poison ivy thickets. We had a great crop of poison ivy berries this year, and I knew that several species of birds enjoy the berries. Here's a carolina chicadee about to swallow one!

Yellow-rumped warblers are insect eaters - you can tell by the little pointy beaks. But I was surprised to learn yesterday that they too enjoy poison ivy berries!

And, even though the pokeberries are shrivelling and beginning to rot, the cardinals still think they are tasty!

Again, these are not as clear or sharp as I'd like. When time permits, I intend to return and take more time to get better shots... But I do hope you enjoy seeing these little feathered friends at their dinners!

GW - None of these are really photos, just snapshots to capture bird behavior. Too much blur from twigs, etc etc, But glad you liked the little cardinal. I intend to return another sunny day when time permits and take some better photos of these behaviors...

yeah, I agree. I know you take much better than these but, if you could capture the same shot without the out of focus branch in the middle and a little more sharpness, you'd be hard pressed to top it. I don't know, just something about it really impressed me.
