Default Sunny Bear - our first grandchild :-)

This is a photo of our son's "puppy". She's 11 years old now and starting to show her age. She was bought for my daughter-in-law to keep her company while my son was stationed overseas in the military. Only thing is, my daughter-in-law was sent first. (They were both military.) So, we got to watch Sunny her first nine months. We always called her our grandchild because it was years before they had an human children. I'll post something of him later.

She looks a little sad here as she's not been feeling well the past week or so.

This brings a tear to my eye Patty. We just lost a chocolate lab a few weeks ago who used to lie on the floor in almost the same way. Very nice pic, and for me at least, a very meaningful one.

Her age is definitely showing. But she has kind eyes and a friendly face. I don't want to think about what might be ahead of all of you shortly - even though it's been probably 5 years since I had to say my final goodbye to my 10 year old Golden, there's still such sadness when I think of him.

What a sweet looking old gal she is.
How could anyone not love a dog like that!

Thanks, everyone. She is a special pet to us. We watched her during their two long tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. Every time she came to stay with us and even now when we go to visit, she acts like she's home again.

Mtnman and Harriet, I'm sorry to hear of your losses. It's never easy. We still miss our golden, Randi whom we lost about 10 years ago. We lost her to stomach cancer and she had the same symptoms Sunny is having. Although, the kids said they've spent quite a bit on many tests over the past month to see what's going on and they can't figure it out. We are quite worried.

Wonderful photo of a cherished friend. I hope she recovers her health.
